- Stolen from ~Purple-Royalty--OTP (One True Pairing) Quiz.--
The rules to the quiz are:
1. The OTP can be any part of a fandom (canon, non-canon, CanonxOC, OCxOC, etc.)
2. The pairing can be hetero, yaoi, or yuri
3. Choose any of your OTPs
4. Answer all of the questions
5. After you finish the quiz, tag someone else to take it
6. Have fun1. What's your OTP, and what fandom are they from?Dick/Babs from DC Comics.
2. When did they become your OTP?About two years ago, I guess. I don't really keep track of the time, you know. XD
3. Why them? Did you see anything between them? If they are not canon, are they cuter than the canon pairings? If they are CanonxOC, why did you make a pairing involving your OC?I suppose, at first, they were just naturally cuter to me than the obvious alternative -- that is, Dick/Kory. Eventually it became a matter of supporting the underdog, since Dick/Kory happens to be almost infinitely more popular. However, I find their character interaction and the way they've helped each other grow to be very appealing, too. I cannot and will not deny that Kory also helped Dick mature in a lot of ways, but ultimately I think it's Barbara that keeps him on the path of responsibility. Starfire, being notoriously emotional herself, has taught Dick to freely express his emotions and show a lot of honesty; Babs, on the other hand, helps him harness that, and teaches him when it is sometimes
not proper to let his emotions dictate his actions. Also, because Babs is highly mature herself and has more than successfully recovered from her trauma with The Joker, she's definitely qualified to give Dick advice on pulling himself up by the bootstraps when he needs to.
Besides that though, I also think that the silly, lighthearted interaction between Dick and Babs is a lot more fun than it is between him and Starfire. Example:
Dick/KoryDick: Kory, you're absolutely gorgeous.
Kory: Dick, you're absolutely gorgeous.
*Make out*
Dick/BabsDick: Babs, you're absolutely gorgeous.
Babs: Forget it, Grayson. I'm not sleeping with you.
Dick: Please?
Babs: No.
Dick: Pretty please?
Babs: No.
Dick: With sugar and a cherry on top?
Babs: Go away.
Dick: Come on, babe. You love me, and you know it. Look at this body. You can't resist this body.
Babs: Get the hell out of my apartment.
Dick: ...But we're still on for that date tonight, right?
Babs: Sure.
Dick: Score!
4. Now for some fun! If you were to send them out on a date, where would they go and why?Probably to that little diner featured in Nightwing Annual #2: Till Death Do Us Part.
5. What would they wear on their date?Dick -- Blue jeans, a white shirt, and a dark brown leather jacket.
Babs -- Blue jeans, a stylish, wine-purple shirt with necklace, and earrings.
6. What would happened after their date? They'd probably go to one or the other's apartment, watch a movie, maybe have a kissing session until one or both of them falls asleep. Then Dick would probably be up first next morning to serve Babs breakfast in bed. ^^
7. How would their friends react to them going on a date? Most of their friends probably wouldn't be too involved in it, but for their closest friends -- Roy would immediately be asking Dick how the sex was, and Tim would just grin and say, 'I knew you couldn't keep away from her.' Dinah would probably say something like, 'Good for you, sweetie!', perhaps throw in a small joke somewhere that would make Babs roll her eyes. Also, Charlie (Misfit) -- because I sort of see Babs and Charlie almost in a mother-daughter sort of relationship with each other -- would be excited, and then say something after her initial congratulations like, 'If he breaks your heart, want me to kick his ass for you?'
8. What song that you think suits them? Which one of them would be the one singing it?1,000 Words from Final Fantasy X-2. Babs wouldn't actually sing it, but it would be from her point of view, of course.
9. The two of them of them (with their closest friends) get thrown into a fairy tale.Same selection as ~
Purple-Royalty made. Probably The Frog Prince.
Dick: Come on, babe! Kiss me! I promise it'll be worth it!
Babs: *Gets a giant flyswatter*
Dick: Oh gods, not again...
10. Describe what would you think their wedding would be like.Probably with a good majority of the other DC heroes there, kind of like Green Arrow and Black Canary's wedding, but with everyone dressed in something nice and traditional for the occasion. That is, tuxedos and dresses. X3 Bruce, Alfred, and Tim would obviously be there.
Maybe Jason, if not because Dick is feeling gracious, then because Babs would invite him (black sheep or no, he's still a part of the Bat Family). Roy would be the best man, and I actually think Charlie would be the bride's maid. I also like to imagine that Roy and Donna would be kind of inspired by the romance of the occasion, and be passing flirty little glances to each other through the ceremony (look at me, I'm on a pairing spree here XD). Kory would be invited too, of course. I mean, Dick invited Babs to his and Kory's wedding, why wouldn't he invite Kory to his and Babs'? Whether or not she would actually attend, I'm not sure. But if she did, I imagine she'd be sad to lose Dick as a lover, but she would also do her best to be happy for him anyway, and would say that they'd always be friends, of course.
Afterward, it's the honeymoon, where Dick and Babs travel to Russia and see beautiful sights, and visit some of the greatest circuses in the world. ^^

Why does DC Comics seem to hate its own characters? They're always either trying to make someone miserable and angsty by putting them through unnecessary trauma, or they're trying to kill them.

I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book. - Groucho Marx
